One reason is if you have calibrated the monitor, then after adjusting the brightness for any reason then you want to set it back to the level at which you calibrated it. Why wouldn’t you use the brightness control on the monitor? I wonder how many images I processed like this. I recalibrated the monitor and sure enough, it was much brighter than before. What's that all about? The only brightness control I have now is on the monitor itself. I looked for the brightness slider in Windows. Recently I noticed having sore eyes and the monitor looked brighter than usual. Now make sure you turn on the Unknown Sources toggle. One of Android 12’s features called Extra Dim aims to address not-dim-enough-displays by allowing the system to further darken beyond what an OEM might have set.
